Within it, you repurpose products, components and materials in the best way possible. As a result, they retain their value in closed cycles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circular economy is important as high-value raw materials are becoming increasingly scarce and will eventually become depleted. As such, it\u2019s important to minimise use of raw materials, and make products and materials more reusable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In circular procurement, an organisation focuses on optimising the flow of raw materials. There are three ways of doing this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reducing<\/strong>: reducing the use of primary resources by using less material or by choosing secondary or bio-based materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extending<\/strong>: extending the service life of products and components, e.g. through maintenance or reusing products and\/or components<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Closing<\/strong>: closing material flows by repeatedly reusing materials to prevent them from being disposed of as waste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This all contributes to the lowest possible impact on the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of circularity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accomplished circularity: using products or materials that are already used<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Potential circularity: using new products that are easily reusable in the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\u201dnu-inkopen-met-afspraken-voor-straks\u201d\">Buy now, with agreements for later<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Solid agreements are very important in circular procurement.\nBeing circular is not just about a one-off purchase <em>now<\/em>, but about commitments for the <em>future<\/em> as well.\nConsider agreements on maintenance, returns and return value.\nThese are essential to creating a true circle \u2013 one that does not stop the moment you purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\u201dniet-alleen-voor-inkopers\u201d\">Not only for purchasers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Circular procurement is a process that affects various people in the organisation.\nIt is definitely not just a matter of purchasers!\n<em>A better description might, therefore, be <em>circular commissioning<\/em><\/em>.\nClick one of the buttons below to discover what your role is in this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button \u201dwp-block-button\u201d\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/ikwilcirculairinkopen.nl\/eindgebruiker\/\">I am an end user<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button \u201dwp-block-button\u201d\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"\/\/ikwilcirculairinkopen.nl\/toeleverancier\/\u201d\">I am a supplier<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Circular procurement is an important tool in the pursuit of a&nbsp;circular economy.
